Controller Position
NDC is seeking a Controller with proven experience in financial and operational leadership to lead all financial activities of its group of companies. The Controller is a management position reporting to the CEO. The Controller works collaboratively with the Executive Management team and subsidiary management teams within the group. The Controller is responsible for financial reporting of each company and presentation of results to the Boards of Directors and its stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Chartered Professional Accountant as a member of CPABC
· Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager as a member of AFOA Canada
· University degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting
· Minimum of 5 years experience (post-designation) in senior accounting/financial position(s)
· Experience with Sage
· Excellent computer skills, including Excel, and financial and accounting software
· Experience in higher level strategic planning
Characteristics and Attributes:
· Experience working with First Nations is an asset
· Passion for Indigenous Economic Development
· Detail orientated, results, task driven
· Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality of organizational information
· Effective and clear verbal and written communication skills
· Proven ability to set priorities and manage time effectively
· Strong ability to work cooperatively and maintain positive working relationships with others
